Day 1
HOBART – STRAHAN
Be met by your tour guide at 08.30 am at your accommodation to begin your journey. Today, travel into the heart of Tasmania’s World Heritage wilderness. At Lake St. Clair, it will be time to step out to enjoy the fresh alpine air along the shores of Australia’s deepest lake. Visit ‘The Wall’, a unique art project where sculptor Greg Duncan creates a 100-meter-long wall of wooden relief sculpture depicting Tasmania’s stories. Before reaching the quaint village of Strahan on the West Coast, stop at Franklin River and the stunning Nelson Waterfalls.

Day 2
GORDON RIVER CRUISE – CORINNA
Cruise across Macquarie Harbour to the tranquil reaches of the Gordon River, which will surely be one of the highlights of your Tasmanian journey. The first stop is Heritage Landing in the rainforest, where you will walk among ancient temperate rainforest trees, many of which are Gondwanan relics. You can then explore the world of convicts on Sarah Island, the site of Tasmania’s most remote and notorious convict settlement. On your return to Strahan, continue to Corinna, a restored historic settlement set on the Pieman River, on the southern boundary of the Tarkine, with access by gravel road and vehicle barge only.

Day 3
PIEMAN RIVER – CORINNA
Today, experience the highly regarded Pieman River Cruise, with excellent commentary, stunning reflections, freedom from other vessels and a truly personal experience with the river and rainforest. The cruise passes close to the wreck of the SS Croydon at the mouth of the Savage River, and to Lover’s Falls near the mouth of the Donaldson. This is an uplifting and authentic experience, rich in history, nature and personal anecdotes.

Day 4
CORINNA – CRADLE MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK
This morning, leave Corinna for your journey to UNESCO World Heritage-listed Cradle Mountain National Park. We travel via Waratah and visit the Philosopher’s Falls. Continue your way towards the alpine area, where you can join your guide for a bushwalk in the forest before settling into your accommodation for the evening.

Day 5
CRADLE MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK
This morning’s activity is to explore some of the many walks on offer inside the Cradle Mountain National Park. Perhaps do the Dove Lake Circuit, where you immerse yourself in the beauty of this majestic setting. Learn about native flora and fauna along the way, with highlights including the ballroom forest and lakeside beaches.

Day 6
CRADLE MOUNTAIN – LAUNCESTON – PENGUINS
Depart Cradle Valley and meet Tasmania’s North Coast. Travel through the village of Sheffield, a town filled with murals depicting Tasmanian life and history. Then we’ll visit the stunning Marakoopa Caves before we arrive in Launceston later this afternoon. In the evening, enjoy a very informative Penguin observing tour at Low Head and see those cute animals coming to the shore to look out for their burrows and chicks (seasonal).

Day 7
LAUNCESTON – BRIDPORT/BARNBOUGLE
Wake up to a relaxed morning in a one of Launceston’s newest accommodations before your guide introduces you to Launceston and the stunning Cataract Gorge. The continue northeast to the rugged Bass strait coast and the coastal town of Bridport. Explore beautiful beaches and stay in a beautifully located accommodation with stunning views.

Day 8
BRIDPORT – LITTLE BLUE LAKE – BAY OF FIRES
After breakfast, visit the Little Blue Lake, a natural phenomenon resulting from the early mining years. Then travel to the internationally acclaimed Bay of Fires, a region of white beaches, blue water and granite splashed with orange lichen. Stop in at the village of Pyengana, renowned for its artisan cheeses, then stretch your legs with a rainforest walk to St Columba Falls. The East Coast greets you with its expansive white-sand beaches. Our overnight destination is St Helens, the entrance to the Bay of Fires and one of Tasmania’s most beautiful beaches.

Day 9
ST HELENS – FREYCINET NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast, travel to Freycinet National Park. There will be ample time to explore the unsurpassed beauty of the Freycinet Peninsula and take an interpreted walk. There are several of those available, and you may choose from the world-famous Wineglass Bay lookout for some stunning photo opportunities. Or a shorter clifftop walk around the Cape Tourville lighthouse is also available.

Day 10
FREYCINET PENINSULA – HOBART DEPARTURE
Enjoy a leisurely morning before travelling towards Hobart. Enjoy lunch at one of Tasmania’s boutique wineries, followed by a visit to Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary to experience Tasmanian Devils, Wombats, Wallabies, Quolls and other Australian animals first-hand. This dedicated team of wildlife carers provides an invaluable service to researching and protecting native wildlife in Tasmania. Continue to your accommodation or Hobart airport, where your guide will bid you farewell later this afternoon.
