Day 1
ARRIVAL HOBART – AIRPORT TRANSFER
Welcome to Tasmania! Your private chauffeur will greet you at Hobart Airport and transfer you to your accommodation. Enjoy a day at leisure. Hobart is a quaint city that features many preserved colonial buildings. Stroll through the vibrant waterfront and Salamanca Place, once the hub of a thriving whaling industry. In the afternoon, you may choose to board the ferry to MONA. The Museum of Old & New Art is one of the world’s most unique and controversial museums. Explore the largest private art collection in Australia. With its fascinatingly eclectic blend of ancient and modern art, it is truly a unique experience.

Day 2
HOBART – LAKE ST CLAIR – STRAHAN
Your first day will take you into the heart of Tasmania’s World Heritage wilderness. Along the way, stop at ‘The Wall’, a unique art project where sculptor Greg Duncan creates a 100-metre-long wall of wooden relief sculpture depicting Tasmania’s stories. The carvings are rendered on three-meter-high panels, most of which is Tasmania’s unique and rare Huon Pine. At Lake St. Clair, it will be time to step out to enjoy the fresh alpine air along the shores of Australia’s deepest lake. Continue to the quaint seaside village of Strahan on the West Coast, stopping at the Franklin River and the stunning Nelson Waterfalls.

Day 3
STRAHAN – GORDON RIVER CRUISE – CRADLE MOUNTAIN
Cruise across Macquarie Harbour to the tranquil reaches of the Gordon River, which is sure to be one of the highlights of your Tasmanian sojourn. First stop is Heritage Landing in the rainforest, where you will take a walk among ancient temperate rainforest trees, many of them Gondwanan relicts. Then explore the convict world of Sarah Island, the site of Tasmania’s most remote and notorious convict settlement. As you stroll in the now peaceful bush setting, envisage the harsh life that was endured by the hapless convicts. On your return to Strahan, travel to the famous Cradle Mountain and your accommodation for the evening.

Day 4
CRADLE MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK – DOVE LAKE
On a clear day, the rugged grandeur of Cradle Mountain is reflected in the tranquil waters of Dove Lake, or you may experience the drama of its craggy peaks through swirling mist.
This morning’s activity is a bushwalk in the National Park on the Dove Lake Circuit (2.5 hrs), where you immerse yourself in the beauty of this majestic setting. (Weather permitting) Learn about native flora and fauna along the way, with highlights including the ballroom forest and lakeside beaches. A variety of other walks are available to suit the weather and group.

Day 5
CRADLE MOUNTAIN – LAUNCESTON – FREYCINET PENINSULA
After breakfast, leave Cradle Valley and travel through lush rolling farm pastures on your journey to Launceston. Enjoy an introduction to Launceston before exploring the scenic Cataract Gorge, where the South Esk River forces its way through sheer rocky cliffs. Evoke memories of the genteel Victorian era as you stroll in the landscaped gardens. Continue to Tasmania’s East Coast, with its exceptional beauty, pristine white sandy beaches, and granite coastline.

Day 6
FREYCINET NATIOANL PARK
Today, there will be ample time to explore the unsurpassed beauty of the Freycinet Peninsula. We may walk up the track to the world-famous Wineglass Bay lookout for stunning photo opportunities with views across the Freycinet Peninsula. A shorter clifftop walk around the lighthouse at Cape Tourville is also on offer.

Day 7
FREYCINET PENINSULA – TASMAN PENINSULA – HOBART
Enjoy a scenic drive south along the East Coast. Explore the Tasman Peninsula, where you will visit Port Arthur and hear the story of Tasmania’s famous UNESCO world-heritage-listed convict settlement. Set in tranquil gardens, Tasmania’s famous convict settlement site harbours a dark history that our experienced guide will bring to life. The Tasman Peninsula has a rugged coastline, which offers stunning scenery and many interesting geological features such as Devil’s Kitchen and Tasman Arch.

MOUNT FIELD NATIONAL PARK – BONORONG
A visit to Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary is your opportunity to experience Tasmanian Devils, Wombats, Quolls, and other Australian animals. The Tasmanian kangaroos at Bonorong are incredibly gentle, so take the delightful opportunity to hand-feed them. This dedicated team of wildlife carers provides an invaluable service to researching and protecting native wildlife in Tasmania. Our journey continues through the picturesque Derwent Valley, dotted with orchards, hop fields and quaint reminders of the historical origins of the area. After lunch, travel to Mount Field National Park, the oldest in the state. Explore the green forest canopy, where you crane your neck to see some of the tallest flowering trees in the world. The majesty of Russell Falls is revealed after a short stroll through the lush eucalyptus forest.

Day 9
SALAMANCA MARKET – AIRPORT TRANSFER (Saturdays only)
Enjoy a free day until your transfer is due to Hobart Airport. Hobart is a quaint city that features many preserved colonial sandstone buildings. The vibrant waterfront and Salamanca Place have many shops and restaurants that showcase local products and were once the hub of a thriving whaling industry. On Saturdays, it is home to Hobart’s legendary market, where you will find quality local handcraft, food, and music.
